Why do people tend to like the detective the most on crime dramas?
The detective is never perfect and often has a complicated character. They are also not models or extra good looking people. People can find personality features in the detectives and can see them as a friend. Their flaws make them more real and let people resonate with them. This makes the audience want them to proceed.
