Theories Flashcards
Germ theory
The germ theory is the currently accepted theory for the cause of diseases. It states that microorganisms that are widely called germs, though formally pathogens, cause disease by invading living hosts.
Miasma theory
The miasma theory is an abandoned medical theory that suggested that “bad air” and “night air” that was released from the ground, was proven wrong by Robert Koch in 1876.
What is the difference between the cell theory and the miasma theory?
Both theories involved sickness. But the Miasma theory believed that diseases come from the external world, while the Cell theory thought it was caused by invading living organisms.
**WHAT IS A THEORY??
A theory is a well-substantiated explanation of an aspect of the natural world that can incorporate laws, hypotheses and facts. (This is a googled response)
