INCOMPREHENSIBLE
God is the Infinite One
He is incomprehensible.
We cannot comprehend the fullness of God’s Nature, nor we can we know completely all His plans and designs
KNOWABLE
Scriptures affirms the “knowability” of God. Heb. 1:1-3, John 1:18
God has revealed Himself and that He can be known to the extent of His self-revelation.
5 Arguments for God’s Existence
The argument from Reason
- 1st phase of argument: “Cause and effect” – all around us are effects such as matter and motion
The argument from Nature
- We find designed purpose for almost everything in nature. Ps. 94:9-10
The argument from History
- This rests upon the foundation of the Divine providence
The argument from the human soul
- That of God’s image in Man.
The argument from Scripture
- This rest upon Scripture’s claims and upon its accuracy as the inspired Word of God.
Erroneous Theories about God
- Atheism – denies the existence of any deity
- Agnosticism – does not deny God’s existence; this denies the possibility of the knowledge of God
- Materialism – denies the existence of spirit, or spiritual beings
- Pantheism – the religion of Hinduism. God is simply Nature, the sum total of the universal system.
- Polytheism – belief in many gods
- Deism – believes in a transcendent but “absentee” God. Also denies miracles
Dualism – the doctrine of the existence of two opposite realms opposed to one another

The Baptismal Formula given by Jesus in the Great Commission clearly reveals the threeness and the oneness of God. Mt. 28:19

He took to Himself a genuine human nature with every human attribute except sinfulness
His human nature was in submission to His divine Nature without sacrificing any of tie humanness
