Theology Flashcards
Receptionism
a atrophied form of Eucharistic theology that teaches that after the consecration, the elements remained unchanged until the communicant receives the body and blood of Christ by Faith.
PREDESTINATION
A term that generically applies to God has preordained who the elect who will go to heaven are and those who are not elect.
ANAMNESIS, (Αναμνεσις
Memorial, remembrance. All glory be to “in remembrance of me” page 80. Oblation could be ananmesis

THE DOCTRINE OF CONCOMITANCE
Since Christ is indivisible, no one part of Christ’s substance can be divided. Thus, Christ’s body cannot be separated from his blood which means that Christ’s full presence is in each element fully.
1 WHAT IS THE CHALCEDONIAN DEFINITION ~ YOU WILL WANT TO INCLUDE THE THEOLOGICAL TERM HOMOOUSION (ομοουσιον) IN YOUR ANSWER. WHERE IS THE EASIEST PLACE TO FIND A COPY OF THE CHALCEDONIAN DEFINITION (HINT: IT’S LISTED AS AN “HISTORICAL DOCUMENT”)?-
The Chalcedonian definition is that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, united perfectly with out mixture or compromise through the hypostatic union. Jesus Christ is begotten, not made, being of homoousion with the Father.
2 ARE WE AS TRADITIONAL ANGLICANS “CATHOLIC” OR “PROTESTANT”, BOTH OR NEITHER
?-
The Anglican tradition is considered to be the via media. While historically, the early reformers solidly intended to produce a protestant religion, it continued to have aspects that were uncompromisingly catholic due to the Elizbethian Settlement. Traditional Anglicans accept the historical reality of this and cherish it because every church has patrimony and the need of self-governance. However, in various times and places within Anglicanism, the church has rejected doctrine that has is a part of the Vincentian canon. We as traditional Anglicans accept the Vincentian Canon with fervor and intend to be wholly a part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church in doctrine and intent.
3 WHAT ARE THE THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ABSOLUTION? WHAT TYPE IS BEST? GIVE EXAMPLES OF EACH TYPE.-
General Absolution: Occurs in a group setting. Specifically at Morning and Evening Prayer and Holy Communion.
Sacramental form of Absolution, or Sacramental Absolution
Occurs in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, note individual absolution also occurs at the “Visitation of the Sick.”
Non-Sacramental Absolution:
The Twenty First Sunday After Trinity Collect:
GRANT, we beseech thee, merciful Lord, to thy faithful people pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve thee with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
4 EXPLICATE THE TERM “UNCTION”. WHAT TYPES ARE THERE, AND WHAT ARE THE BIBLICAL BASES FOR UNCTION
Holy Unction is one of the seven sacraments, and it is anointing with oil.Two types: unction which is visitation of the Sick, and Last rites. James 5:14-15, Matthew 10:8, Luke 10:8-9 and Mark 6:13.
Three kinds of oil

Oil of the catuchims.
Chrism.
Who is God?
God is a pure Spirit, the Creator and Preserver of all things, who has no beginning or end. Think of time as a pencil one end marks the beginning of time and the other marks the end of time but God, who created time (the pencil), exists outside of time. So, God has no beginning or end.
What is sin?
The most common definition for sin is transgressions against the Law of God or giving in to the temptations of the Devil. But consider another definition: that sin is choosing the lesser good; every sin has some good such as pleasure or satisfaction, but sinful pleasure falls short of God’s will. It is choosing the lesser good.
