A
Victorian society represses Sexual appetite, no violence, no great expressions of emotion (at least in public)
Everything is sober and dignified, no one is really happy
The more Jekyll’s appetites are repressed the more he wants to be Mr Hyde- after Jekyll goes without Hyde for 2 months his pull to Evil is even stronger
