United Nations- it is an International Organization that aims to maintain international peace and security and protect human rights
it has 193 member states
What is the IMF
International Monetary Fund
It is an International Organization that works with 188 countries to achieve global monetary cooperation and secure financial stability, it’s head quarters are in Washington DC
What is the World Bank?
An Organization that is run by the United Nations that provides loans to developing countries.Its aim is to reduce poverty.
What is the G7?
Group of 7
They attempt to fix and discuss global issues.

What is the WTO?
World Trade Organization
They are an international Organization that sets rules to make trading fair. They promote free trade as this allows poorer countries to join in with trading
Give an example of a campaign surrounding a global issue

How do we have Global interdependence ?
We need to work together globally, to combat climate change
There have been treaties signed that help combat climate change. The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement between 83 countries, that agreed to:
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Monitor climate change
Protect the environment
In 2007 G8 (now the G7) agreed to half carbon emissions by 2050
Give an example of that links to the issue involving the abuse of human rights (South Africa)
In South Africa from 1948 to 1994 apartheid took place this was a government regime of race racial segregation where nonwhites were treated less fairly and had to have their own separate schools and were not allowed to vote .
Nelson Mandela joined an anti-apartheid group and organised campaigns and public demonstrations to end apartheid he was arrested and was in jail for 27 years as a political prisoner people all over the world campaign campaign for his release.
he was released in 1994 apartheid ended soon afterwards and Nelson Mandela was elected president of South Africa in 1994 after the countries first multi racial election
State one debate relating to Britain and the EU
Conservatives and UKIP want a referendum to decide whether we should remain a part of the EU or not

Make Poverty History, have the Jubilee Debt campaign that aims for countries to delete unfair debt payments that are being demanded of developing countries by raising awareness through festivals, writing emails to people in power like the chancellor of the exchequer and spreading awareness through social media
