- ensure German economy would achieve autarky, self-sufficiency

- Jews could not work in civil service
- Nazis encouraged business to create jobs for unemployed

- synthetic rubber production increased by 500%
What were the failures of the Command Economy?
- four year loan created economic problems
- production to support military was prioritised
- govt not always able to keep up with requests for produce
- huge costs of rearmament meant they were close to another inflation crisis
