In the hall of mirrors in the palace of Versailles.

What is war guilt?
War guilt is the blame for starting the war. Germany were force to take the blame for the war or the war would carry on. This meant that Germany would be treated much harder.
What happened to the army?
Limited to 100,000 men and they were not allowed to have aircrafts, U-boats, or armoured vehicles. This was bad because Germany had been very proud of their armed forces.
What happened to the navy?
It was to be handed over to the British but instead they scattered it. They used to be proud of their navy.
What happened to the Rhineland and why was it a problem?
It was demilitarised. It made them feel vulnerable.
Why did Germany feel vulnerable?
They were surrounded by countries that hated them and they were defenceless.
France especially hated them and they were not demilitarised.
What was the biggest ting that Germany was annoyed about?
Germany was forced to pay repetitions £6,600 million- Germany can’t recover.
What happened to Germany which would make it incredibly difficult to pay reperations?
Germany lost its overseas colonies.
The Saar coalfields were given to France for 15 years.
These were Germany’s main sources of income.
What did Germany want?
REVENGE!!!!

They were stabbed in the back by politicians (scapegoat).
