Land that a settlement is built on
Situation
A settlements location in relation to surrounding physical features
Connectivity
The way that a city is connected or linked to other settlements in the UK and to other countries in the world
Residential
An area used for housing
public buildings
Buildings owned by the council that serve the residents of a city e.g a library
Owner occupied
A house which is owned by the people who live in it or they are buying it with a morgage
Social priority housing
Houses that are owned bu a housing association and are rented to people who cannot afford to buy their own home
Green belt land
An area around a city composed of farmlands and recreational land. There are strict controls on the development of this land; its purpose is to control the growth of cities
