Agonist muscle definition
Agonist - a muscle which creates movement (the working muscle). It contracts and gets shorter during the movement.
Antagonist muscle definition
Antagonist - a muscle which co-ordinates and controls movement. It relaxes and gets longer.
Fixator muscle definition
Fixator - a muscle which stabilises one part of the body while another one moves.

When bending (flexion):
Agonist: Hamstring
Antagonist: Quadriceps
When straightening (extension):
Agonist: Quadriceps
