• It affects your personality, it is the core of who you are
• When the Bible says we are made in the image of God, it means we have a soul
• This allows for a relationship with God

• They believe the soul is the inner part of us
• We are made from a body and a soul
• Some believe that the body will remain in the grave whilst the soul will go up to heaven in an afterlife
• Others believe the body and soul are one so therefore cannot be separated

• We have both physical and non-physical aspects
• Soul is an invisible part that is pure at birth
• We are blessed with a soul (ruh)
• Humans are created and God breathes a soul into them
• In the Hadith there is a passage that says ensoulment happens in the womb at 120 days
• When a child is born they are in a state of Fitrah (purity)
