What is a independent variable (IV)?
A variable that researchers manipulate in an experiment to see how it affects a dependent variable (DV)
What is a dependent variable (DV)?
A variable that is measured and expected to change in response to the manipulation of the independent variable (IV)
What is an extraneous variable (EV)?
A variable that can affect the results of an experiment that the researcher is not investigating
