Russian Revolution

February Revolution

Provisional Government

A revolutionary socialist group led by Vladimir Lenin that seized power in Russia in the October Revolution of 1917
October Revolution
A coup led by the Bolshevik in October 1917 that overthrew the provisional government and established Soviet power in Russia
Red Army
The military forces that were loyal to the Bolsheviks and fought to defend the Soviet government during the Russian Civil War
Russian Civil War
A conflict that lasted from 1918 to 1922 between the Bolshevik Red Army and various anti-communist forces, resulting in the establishment of the Soviet Union
Soviet Union
A federal socialist state that was established in Russia in 1922 and lasted until its dissolution in 1991, composed of a number of socialist republics governed by the Communist Party
