- Adds/brings more investment into the sport

- Able to follow teams and role models by looking at statistics
- Improved coverage of minority sports
- Able to watch from all angles, therefore an increased viewing experience

- May become too reliant on statistics and not use other forms of evidence for squad selection
- Could contradict traditional tactics and strategies that a coach may use
- More risk of being hacked due to overreliance on computers
