Q

What is censorship?

A

Stopping the passing of certain information. The aim was to stop information getting out that would encourage the enemy and demoralise the British people. Censors told newspapers and magazines what information and pictures they could or could not print. They censored letters going abroad and going into the country to make sure that important information was not given away.
