- factors limiting ppl’s ability to move + may discourage/prevent ppl from migrating

A
- distance, inc any physical landscapes such as seas, deserts, Mts + risks of flooding, drought + landslides: difficult + dangerous to cross
- e.g. Syrian migrants crossing English Channel to seek asylum in UK

A
- selling ur house involves estate agent fees + must pay to have goods transported (e.g. relocation for work)
- money required upon arrival (e.g. fees to buy new property in destination)
- transport costs

- good health + being physically fit is require to move
- knowledge of destination: reliant on info from previous migrants (may not be accurate)
- insecurity or hostile areas poses human dangers (e.g. many ppl fleeing Zimbabwe to S. Africa get robbed by bandits at boarders)

- gov. immigration laws 1 of the biggest barriers as many countries require visas to enter + remain in country but often aren’t granted
- e.g. Mexican migrants to US, face challenges at US boarders due to strict immigration laws
