Why was Italy a hotspot for the Renaissance?

A

 People traveled from Asia to France to trade and had to pass through Italy to get there
 Hot spot for artists as many ideas from across the globe were shared in Florence
 Italy had rich families who could buy art. They did this by paying artist’s bills in exchange for some of their work (Patrons – Ex. Medici Family)
 Italy had some of the biggest names at the time
 There was so much talent in the same spot and time, resulting in a lot of work being created

A

When people began to use new technologies and began to speak their mind. It was caused by art, music, and science.

  • “Ahead of his time”
  • Created the Mona Lisa (1503-1506)
  • Created the tank, the helicopter, and machine guns
  • Could write forwards and backwards
  • Knew and could write in Latin, a rare language at the time
