The Railways Flashcards
1
Q
How did the rise of the railways threaten the position of Native Americans?
A
. The rail lines crossed the Great Plains therefore disrupting the herds of buffalo on which the Native Americans relied on.
. The expansion of the railways only encouraged greater expansion westwards which in turn bought in settlers which led to further loss of Native American land.
. The railways bought white hunters to hunt buffalo which only led to a further decline in the population of the buffalo.
