- If a pm appears strong and statesman like then this is a vote winner
- Run up to 2015 election, Cameron strong… Miliband weak.

Cameron and sturgeon came across very well and seen big seat rises and success…
Drawbacks of this power highlighted by miliband.

Power of Patronage
Paragraph 3 KU:
- Power to appoint ministers to the cabinet
- Appoint peers to the HOL
- Make Suggestions as to who appears on the honours list
Paragraph 3 Analysis:
+Can choose people who will support him
- Some people may expect to be appointed… may rebel if not
- In 2015 when cameron elected 45 new peers to the house of lords over half were tory and sparked concerns, decisions have consequences… not unstoppable.

Chairperson of the cabinet
Paragraph 4 KU:
- Select the members of his cabinet and chair cabinet meetings
- Set the agenda on major policy decisions
Paragraph 4 Analysis:
+ Important as he can choose the people for important roles
- Must consider people who expect to be given roles to avoid backlash
- Must choose the right people to appear strong to public
- Must consider other factors that may cause backlash and public concern (Too many people from private education)
