Roses symbolize Miss Strangeworth’s honour and reputation in the town, roses are also perfect, beautiful flowers, but have hidden thorns to be wary of. Adelia means noble.

The atmosphere is set as bright and happy to reflect the perfection of Ms. Strangeworth’s life. It creates more contrast when her rose are ruined and things don’t go as planned
