insomnia; difficulty falling aslepp or inability to sleep
sleep walking disorder;
narcolepsy; an uncontrollable desire to sleep which is a neurological disorder
enuresis; bed wetting, involuntary passing of urine during sleep, it is a psychological disorder and happens during non-rapid eye movenent
define incontinence
inability to retain urine or faeces
list and define two types of incontinence
stress incontinence; this is the involuntary escape of urine, happens mainly in females
urinary retention; this is when urine is produced normally but is not excreted from the bladder. the bladder continues to fill and may distend until it reaches the level of the umbilicus
what are comfort devices
any equipment used to promote comfort and the relief of bed sores eg, pillow, mattress, bed board, rubber ring, rubber donut, gloves with water
