Mark, written over 35 years after Jesus’ death
What evidence is used to show that the gospels may have tried to make Jesus look more divine
The presentation of Jesus in John’s gospel is more divine than other accounts, and this was the last gospel written, almost 70 years after Jesus’ death
What proof suggests that the gospels should not be taken literally or as the truth

The younger brother became annoyed that the father was so happy to see him, the father said to him they need to celebrate as ‘this brother of yours was dead and is alive again’
Why did jesus criticise the authorities
They were more concerned with the outward appearances of their religion than what is going on in their heart

Jesus asked ‘which of these three do you think was a neighbour?’, the man replied ‘the one who had mercy on him’
