Some people have given places a spiritual meaning such as Ayers Rock in Australia
Religions have places which have great meaning to many people such as Mecca to the Islamic religion
Role
Peoples role within society change the way they view a place
As you go through life you loose and gain roles meaning you will view that place differently as this occurs
