The Path To Treatment Flashcards
Stretcher Bearers

Regimental Aid Post

Motor Ambulance
Where all serious cases were sent, along with casualty clearing stations. Driven by either motor or horses.
Casualty Clearing Stations
The first large well equipped medical facility the wounded would see. Situated around 12 miles from the fighting in a series of large tents.
Hospital Train
Usually civilian hospitals near railways so patients could be converted quickly.
Base Hospitals
The final stage of treatment. From the base hospitals most were sent back to Britain by train. Others would be sent to convalescent before returning to the fighting units.
