  • Wundt worked on the beginning of scientific psychology and developed introspection where he aimed to analyse human consciousness and study the mind

A
  • Wundt and his co workers recorded their expierence with stimuli and divided them into thoughts, images and sensations
  • this is called structuralism

  • 1900 = behaviourists rejected intospection and proposed that psychology should be measured objectively
  • 1950 = cognitive, likening the mind to a computer
  • 1980 = biological approach, use of biology to understand psychology

A

S = scientific, most approaches rely on objective data such as the biological and behaviourist approach
L = the humanistic and psychodynamic approach reject scientific approaches, showing that some approaches may disagree with science and it may not always be desirable
