A
- Involves studying a large number of people.
- Seeks to develop general laws/theories about their behaviour.

- Based on numbers
- e.g measures of central tendency and dispersion, graphs.
- Such calculations require data from groups of people rather than individuals.

Example of a Nomothetic approach Behaviourist approach.
A
- Behaviourist psychologists produced general laws about behaviour - classical and operant conditioning.
- Research didn’t include thousands participants but they were seeking one set of rules for all animals - humans and non humans.
