What are the five uses of ‘lo’

A

– as a thing / things (followed by adjective)
e.g. No me gusta lo amargo.

– to express an entity, place, or abstract idea.

– as a part of something;
e.g. Lo importante de la vida es el fin.

– as how (instead of cómo or la manera en que).
e.g. Quedó sorprendido por lo absurdo de su manera de ser

– to express the degree or nature of something; to emphasize the idea of that adjective
