a system of specialised cells working together to regulate body functions

- the brain
- the spinal cord

A
-somatic nervous system (sensory)
-autonomic nervous system (fight or flight and digestion)
- autonomic split into sympathetic and parasympathetic
sympathetic- switches fight of flight on parasympathetic switches fight of flight off

how is information transferred in the nervous system compared to endocrine
A
electrical signals as opposed to hormones (chemical)
faster automatic whereas hormones slower in bloodstream
