Larynx
A
Cut through the neck muscles, anterior to the heart and thymus, to find the larynx.
This tube is connected to the trachea.
Contains the voice producing vocal cords. Note the small triangular muscles on the right and left sides of the larynx that control the vocal chords.

Submaxillary salivary glands
A
Slightly rostral and flanking the larynx are 2 submaxillary salivary glands, which produce saliva.

Buccal cavity
A
The mouth. The submaxillary salivary glands produce saliva, which enters the buccal cavity through ducts on the ventral side, underneath the tongue.
