Who started the putsch?
The Nazi party led by Adolf Hitler and general lunendorff.
How many members did the Nazis have?
They had 55,000 members and the SA, their own private army.
Why did the putsch happen?
The Nazis believed that democracy only led to a weak government.

They thought there should only be one political party with one leader.
What happened at the putsch?
The Nazis planned to take over the government and set up general lundendorff as leader of Germany. They started in Munich.
What did the Nazis and the SA do?
Hitler and 6000 of his SA burst into a meeting where leader of bavaria was speaking. They forced kahr to promise to support their plan.
Why was the putsch unsuccessful?
It had not been properly planned. Hitler made a huge ,istake of allowing kahr to leave the beer hall, who, the following day, withdrew his support.
What did the government do in response to the putsch?
They ordered the army to crush the revolt.
What were the outcomes?
Nazis marched to a military base where they were met with armed police and soldiers. Over 14 Nazis were killed leaders of the putsch were arrested. Hitler was sent to prison for five years, but his sentence was reduced to just 9 months. During this time the Nazis fell apart without their leader.
