Much less intense than the previous Blitz

Why where the raids not that effective ?
A
Germany only could assemble 475 aircraft to attack
Inexperienced crews- often missed targets

A
Weighted between 50kg- 1800kg so massive variation
Largest one called satan and it created a blast that destroyed buildings

A
- weighted 1000kg, designed to sink ships at sea
- sometimes dropped via parachute onto land targets
- exploded above ground to make the damage even worse

- butterfly bombs were types of cluster bombs that would open up and look like a butterfly
- fitted with detonates which went of at a certain time
