What are the three branches of government? What are their jobs?
Legislative makes laws, executive enforces laws, judicial interprets laws.
What are the two houses of Congress?
Senate and House of Representatives
Who is in the executive branch?
Contains president, vice president, the Cabinet, and executive agencies who all help enforce the laws
What is the purpose of the President’s Cabinet?
To advise the president on issues related to their departments
What is impeachment?
Accusing an official of misconduct in office
What three Presidents were impeached? What were the results of the impeachments?
Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump - all acquitted
What is jurisdiction?
Court’s authority to hear a case
What is important about Marbury v. Madison?
Established the judicial branch as a co-equal branch with power to declare acts unconstitutional
