What is the difference between the Preterite and imperfect tense?
The Preterite refers to past completed actions that happened at a specific moment in time, which the imperfect refers to past actions that occurred over an undefined period of time
When to use the imperfect tense?
- Ongoing past actions (I was walking to school)
- ‘Used to do ‘ Phrases (I used to play guitar-> I played guitar)
- Description of things not events (The house was small and cosy)
- Times dates and ages (It was 6 o clock)
