A portal system is a blood pathway that begins and end in capillaries

Diastole is when the heart chambers relax
What is meant by systole?
Systole is when the heart chambers contract
What is a pulse?
A pulse is the alternate expansion and contraction of the arteries

Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the wall of the blood vessels (mainly the arteries)
