DU1: Changqiang - Long Strong
- luo connecting of the GV
- meeting point = GV w/ CV, GB, KD channels
LOCATION: on the midline, midway between the tip of the coccyx & the anus
- treats hemorrhoids
- benefits the two lower yin (anus/genitals)
- activates channel & alleviates pain
- mostly local
- alleviate distal pain at top of head
- calm the spirit
- brain inury or trauma (post concussion syndrome etc)
DU2: Yaoshu - Lumbar Shu
LOCATION: on the midline, in the sacro-coccygeal hiatus
- benefits the lumbar region & legs
- any lumbar issues, pain radiating down legs, weakness in legs
- dispels wind damp
- bi syndrome; arthritis worse in damp weather
- local hemorrhoids, prolapse (anus/uterus)
DU3: Yaoyangguan - Lumbar Yang Gate
LOCATION: on the midline of the lower back in the depression below the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vetebra - level w/ BL25 = back shu of LI
- similiar to DU2 but more frequently used becasue of location
- dispels wind damp
- benefits lumbar region & legs
- common place for disk injuries, SI joint issues, herniations
- regulates lower jiao = irregular mensturation, eneuresis, vaginal discharge, sexual dysfunction, impotence, seminal leakage
DU4: Mingmen - Gate of Life
LOCATION: on the midline of the lower back in the depression below the spinous process of the 2nd lumbar vetebra - level w/ BL23 = back shu of KD
- clears heat
- internal heat, fever, yin xu heat
- regualtes the GV
- things affecting the spine/brain = epilepsy, parkinsons, neurological disorders, HA (vertex/occipital)
- tonifys KD
- mingmen = warming aspect of KD (warms/stimulates all other organs to fx)
- lower jiao related to KD = shan disorder/hernea, sexual dysfucntion
- benefits the lumbar spine
- KD xu lumbar pain = deep, achey, feels better with pressue

DU5: Xuanshu - Suspended Pivot
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below spinous process of L1 - level w/ BL22 = back shu of SJ
- benefits the lumbar spine
- upper lumbar spine affects femoral artery that runs down front of leg (ST/SP)
- benefits the lower jiao
- fluid issues in lower jiao
- undigested food in stool, diarrahea, running piglet qi
* MOSTLY USED LOCALLY *
DU6: Jizhong - Center of the Spine
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below spinous process of T12 - level w/ BL20 = back shu of SP
- fortifies the SP & drains damp
- T&T, abdominal fullness, sluggish digestion, loose stool, hemmorhoids (SP energy ascends, holding things up
- benefits the spine
- stiffness of the spine = epilepsy
- center of spine = acrominon to top of hip
DU7: Zongshu - Central Pivot
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below spinous process of T10 - level w/ BL19 = back shu of GB
- benefits the spine
- lumbar pain
- benefits the middle jiao
- back up in SP -> T&T issues -> jaundice
- abdominal fullness, no desire to eat
DU8: Jinsuo - Sinew Contraction
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below spinous process of T9 - level w/ BL18 = back shu of LV
- sooth LV, pascify wind & relieve spasm
- sinew contraction = issues with sinews
- stiffness & contraction in spine
- ligament laxity/joint instability
- pacify wind = epilepsy
- sooth LV = any spasm (middle jiao = digestive, colonic spasm)
- calm the spirit
- pain of HT = angina
DU9: Zhiyang - Reaching Yang
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below the spinous process of T7 - level w/ BL17 = back shu of diaphgram, influential point of blood
- fortifies the SP, drains dampness, regulates the middle jiao
- treats janudice
- back up of bilirubin in blood (in line with influential point of blood)

DU10: Lingtai - Spirit Tower
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below the spinous process of T6 - level w/ BL16 = back shu of GV
- alleviates cough & wheezing
- descend LU qi
- clears heat & detoxify poison
- extreme heat in blood (detox poison)
- steaming bone disorder = extreme yin xu
- calm mind (toxic heat affect mind to think clearly or stay calm)
- local back pain = stiffness up to neck
DU11: Shendao - Spirit Pathway
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below the spinous process of T5 - level with BL15 = back shu of HT
- tonify the HT & LU + calms the spirit
- more commonly used for calming the spirit = saddness, anxiety (can lead to poor memory)
- clears heat & pacifys wind
- epilepsy, lockjaw (int wint), tremors
- fever with HA
DU12: Shenzhu - Body Pillar
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression of the spinous process of T3 - level with BL13 = back shu of the LU
- clears heat from the LU & HT
- cough, dysponea, heat in chest,
- calm the spirit
- mad raving; rage with desire to kill people
- pacify wind
- healthy growth & development in children (moxa)
- stimulates T-cell count (in thymus)
DU13: Taodao - Way of Happiness
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression of the spinous process of T1 - level with BL11 = back shu of bones
- clears heat & treats malaria
- 1 space down from DU14 (whre all yang meet)
- release exterior
- 1 space down from DU14 (whre all yang meet)
- regulates the governing vessel
- stiffness in upper back & neck
- visual disturbances
DU14: Dazhui - Great Vetebra
- meeting point for all the yang channels
- sea of qi point
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below the spinout process of C7
- expels wind & firms the exterior
- wind-heat, wind-cold
- clear heat
- treat malaria
- tonify deficiencies
- all yang meet here; activating point
- pacifys wind
- internal wind = stiffness of spine, head shaking, tremors
- pain at nape of neck
DU15: Yamen - Gate of Muteness
- meeting point of GV & Yang Wei
- sea of qi point
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression.5 cun inferior to DU16, below the spinous process of C1
- benefits the tongue & treats mutness
- stiffness of tongue (TBI, stroke)
- any difficulty speaking or annunciating
- autism spectrum kids = difficulty expressing
- eliminates wind
- epilepsy, stroke, loss of consciousness
- mostly internal wind
- DU14 more external wind
- benefits the neck & spine
DU16: Fengfu - Palace of Wind
- meeting point of GV & Yang Wei
- sea of marrow point
- window of sky point
- ghost point
LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression immediately below the external occipital protuberance
- eliminates wind (int/ext)
- wind affecting brain/CNS
- diziness, vertigo, HA
- stroke, hemiplasia, speech issue with stroke
- wind affecting brain/CNS
- nourish the sea of marrow and benefits the head & neck
- blurred vision, high BP, windstroke
- calms the spirit
- malaria, mad raving
DU17: Naohu - Brain’s Door
- meeting of GV & BL channels
LOCATION: at the back of the head on the midline, 1.5 cun direclty above DU16, in depression directy above the EOP - DU16-20 = 1.5 cun apart (anterior to posterior harline = 12 cun)
- eliminates wind & alleviates pain
- benefits the eyes
- calms the spirit

DU18: Qiangjian - Unyeilding Space
LOCATION: at the back of the head on the midline, 1.5 cun directly superior to DU17, midway between DU16 & DU20
- pacify wind & alleviate pain
- HA, diziness, epilepsy, shaking of head, stiffness of head
- calms the spirit
- mania, mad raving

DU19: Houding - Behind the Crown
LOCATION: at the back of the head on the midline, 1.5 cun directly superior to DU18 and 1.5 cun posterior to DU20
- eliminates wind & alleviate pain
- stiffness of head, pain at back of neck
- vertex HA, side HA
- diziness from wind, HA, tremor, head shaking
- calms the spirit

DU20: Baihui - Hundred Meetings
- meeting point of GV with BL, SJ, LV
- sea of marrow point
LOCATION: at the vertex, on the midline, in teh depression 5 cun posterior to the anterior hairline was & 7 cun superior to the posterior hairline. This point may be measured as 8 cun posterior to the glabella and 6 cun superior to the EOP.
- pacify wind & subdues yang (push down)
- yang rising = hot flashes, vertex HA
- raises yang & counteracts prolapse (brings up)
- prolapse of ANY organ (mostly at opposite ie. rectum/uterus)
- benefits the head & sense organs
- congestion, HA, vision, hearing
- nourish the sea of marrow
- brain & CNS issues = windstroke, hemeplasia, tinitus, vision problems, memory/concentration issues, anxiety, disorientation

DU21: Qianding - In Front of the Crown
LOCATION: at the top of the head, on the midline, 1.5 cun directly anterior to DU20 & 3.5 posterior to the anterior hairline
- eliminates wind & treats convlusions
- benefits the head
- visual diziness, epilepsy, vertigo, pain at vertex, swelling/reddness of face
DU22: Xinhui - Fontanelle Meeting
LOCATION: at the top of the head, on the midline, 2 cun posterior to the anterior hairline
- benefits the nose
- nasal congestion, differentiate smells
- eliminates wind and benefits the head
- frontal & vertex HA, diziness (head wind), swelling, redness in face
- do not needle on young child w/out fontanells closed
DU23: ShandXing - Upper Star
LOCATION: at the top of the head, on the midline, 1 cun posterior to the anterior hairline & .5 cun posterior to DU24
- benefits the nose & eyes
- sinuses
- eliminates win, benefits the head & face + dispels swelling
- calms the spirit = GHOST POINT
- mania depression
- study on depression w/ DU23 & DU20
DU24: Shenting - Shen Palace OR Courtyard of the Spirit
- meeting point of GV with BL & ST channel
LOCATION: at the top of the head, on the midline, .5 cun posterior to the anterior hairline & .5 cun anterior to DU23
- benefits the brain & calms the spirit
- MANIA DEPRESSION: calm spirit voice
- eliminates wind & benefits the head
- int wind = visual, diziness
- ext wind = bells palsy, ticks, etc
- benefits the eys & nose
