A
  • luo connecting of the GV
  • meeting point = GV w/ CV, GB, KD channels

​LOCATION: on the midline, midway between the tip of the coccyx & the anus

  • treats hemorrhoids
  • benefits the two lower yin (anus/genitals)
  • activates channel & alleviates pain
    • mostly local
    • alleviate distal pain at top of head
  • calm the spirit
    • brain inury or trauma (post concussion syndrome etc)

DU2: Yaoshu - Lumbar Shu

A

​LOCATION: on the midline, in the sacro-coccygeal hiatus

  • benefits the lumbar region & legs
    • any lumbar issues, pain radiating down legs, weakness in legs
  • dispels wind damp
    • bi syndrome; arthritis worse in damp weather
  • local hemorrhoids, prolapse (anus/uterus)

DU3: Yaoyangguan - Lumbar Yang Gate

A

​LOCATION: on the midline of the lower back in the depression below the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vetebra - level w/ BL25 = back shu of LI

  • similiar to DU2 but more frequently used becasue of location
  • dispels wind damp
  • benefits lumbar region & legs
    • common place for disk injuries, SI joint issues, herniations
  • regulates lower jiao = irregular mensturation, eneuresis, vaginal discharge, sexual dysfunction, impotence, seminal leakage

DU4: Mingmen - Gate of Life

A

LOCATION: on the midline of the lower back in the depression below the spinous process of the 2nd lumbar vetebra - level w/ BL23 = back shu of KD

  • clears heat
    • internal heat, fever, yin xu heat
  • regualtes the GV
    • things affecting the spine/brain = epilepsy, parkinsons, neurological disorders, HA (vertex/occipital)
  • tonifys KD
    • mingmen = warming aspect of KD (warms/stimulates all other organs to fx)
    • lower jiao related to KD = shan disorder/hernea, sexual dysfucntion
  • benefits the lumbar spine
    • KD xu lumbar pain = deep, achey, feels better with pressue

LOCATION: on the posterior midline, in the depression below spinous process of L1 - level w/ BL22 = back shu of SJ

  • benefits the lumbar spine
    • upper lumbar spine affects femoral artery that runs down front of leg (ST/SP)
  • benefits the lower jiao
    • fluid issues in lower jiao
    • undigested food in stool, diarrahea, running piglet qi

  • sooth LV, pascify wind & relieve spasm
    • sinew contraction = issues with sinews
    • stiffness & contraction in spine
    • ligament laxity/joint instability
    • pacify wind = epilepsy
    • sooth LV = any spasm (middle jiao = digestive, colonic spasm)

  • treats janudice
    • back up of bilirubin in blood (in line with influential point of blood)

  • alleviates cough & wheezing
    • descend LU qi
  • clears heat & detoxify poison
    • extreme heat in blood (detox poison)
    • steaming bone disorder = extreme yin xu
    • calm mind (toxic heat affect mind to think clearly or stay calm)

    • diziness from wind, HA, tremor, head shaking

DU20: Baihui - Hundred Meetings

A
  • meeting point of GV with BL, SJ, LV
  • sea of marrow point

LOCATION: at the vertex, on the midline, in teh depression 5 cun posterior to the anterior hairline was & 7 cun superior to the posterior hairline. This point may be measured as 8 cun posterior to the glabella and 6 cun superior to the EOP.

  • pacify wind & subdues yang (push down)
    • yang rising = hot flashes, vertex HA
  • raises yang & counteracts prolapse (brings up)
    • prolapse of ANY organ (mostly at opposite ie. rectum/uterus)
  • benefits the head & sense organs
    • congestion, HA, vision, hearing
  • nourish the sea of marrow
    • brain & CNS issues = windstroke, hemeplasia, tinitus, vision problems, memory/concentration issues, anxiety, disorientation

    3. bilateral branches converge at the vertex (DU20) and enter the brain
