  2. Some kind of design/template (not plain white background)
  3. No clutter
  4. Simple and consistent animation (or none)
  5. Unobtrusive transitions
  6. At least 1 picture
  7. Heading/title and main text

  1. One concept per slide (e.g this one is all about the text)
  2. Short & simple text - no complete sentences
  3. No paragraphs of text!
  4. 5 to 7 words per line
  5. 5 to 7 bullets per page
  6. Skip “a”, “an”, “the” where possible

Tips - Presenting 1#

  1. Practice beforehand so you know your content
  2. Title slide - introduce yourself and the topic.
  3. Provide an agenda (e.g “These are the parts of my presentation.”)
  4. Have a “Handout” for your classmates.
  5. Use a cordless mouse so you aren’t tethered
  6. Maintain eye contact
  7. Take your time

  2. Do not read directly off the slides.
  3. Keep points simple and expand off them orally.
  4. Remember it’s you not the show they should pay attention to
  5. Ask if there are any questions & allow
    discussion.
