German sailors at an evil piece of wilhelmshaven refused to follow orders to set sail
What happened on 4 November
400,000 soldiers their joined the docs and set up a workers council. Soldiers refused to control rioters saw the government was breaking down
What happened on 7 November
In Bavaria thousands of workers marched to Munich. King Ludwick feared for his life and fled. Einser (leader) then set up workers council and other royals fled
What happened on the 9th November
Kaiser Wilhelm abdicated and fled to Holland. SPD formed a new government
Friedrich Ebert became chancellor

The armistice, Germans felt betrayed

A new government
It took longer to gain control but by mid 1919 the German state became known as the Weimar Republic
