Where is the greater omentum located?
A
- The greater omentum, hangs down like an apron over the intestines.
- It descends from the greater curvature of the stomach and proximal part of the duodenum, then folds back up and attaches to the anterior surface of the transverse colon.

What does it contain and do?
A
- Contains variable amounts of fat
- Mobile
- Forms adhesions to areas of inflammation and limits spread of infection
