Q

Which type of fuel:

This is termed a “wide-cut fuel”, meaning that it is a mixture of gasoline and kerosene. It has a flashpoint of -20 and a freezing point of -60. Although it may be used as an alternative to jet A-1, it is highly flammable because of its lower flashpoint and, although it has some military use it is commonly used in civil aviation.

Q

Which type of fuel control unit:

These are fairly complex units which basically control the metering valve allowing fuel to flow to the engines.

To do this they use RPM governors, servo-systems and feed-back loops together with valves and various sensing mechanisms.

Q

Which type of fuel control unit:

The more advanced type of unit, known as the full authority digital electronic control. The unit contains thermocouples, electrical servo systems, solid state devices, amplifiers and relays, switches and solenoids to achieve the same purpose as the hydro mechanical unit.
