What is usually affected first when there is a possible communication disorder?
Hearing is usally tested first to rule out either a communication disorder or to find a underlying condition
What is a speech disorder?
What are the things that are affected?
A speech disorder is an atypical production of speech sounds, interruption in the flow of speaking, or abnormal production and/or absence of voice quality
Pitch, loudnees, resonance (air flow through the oral cavity) and duration
What is a language disorder?
impairment in comprehension and/or use of spoken, written, and/or symbol systems
What is a hearing disorder?

impaired sensitivity in the peripheral (outer, middle, and inner ears) and/or central (auditory brainstem) auditory systems
Receptive language (what you say)
Expressive (vocab is reduced/limited)
