They settled in Upper Canada. 7,000 before 1791, 15,000 between 1791 and 1812.
What were the territorial consequences of the Loyalists’ settlement?
- Townships
- Protestant churches
- Introduction of English schools
What was the Loyalists’ demographic impact?
They were the first English speaking population in Quebec, making the English population increase to 10%.
What did the Loyalists demand?
Language rights and a legislative assembly
