Directly in the bloodstream.
How does the nervous system react?
Fast.
How does the endocrine system react?
Slower than the nervous system and it lasts longer.
Endocrine system is in charge of what?
Cell growth.
Breathing and body movement is controlled by what?
The nervous system.
How are the nervous system and the endocrine system relevant?
They’re very different but they work together to help the body function properly.
The brain recognizes what’s going on where?
The external and internal environment.
What does the brain do to the endocrine system?
It tells the system to stop or to start producing certain hormones.
How to the hormones affect the cells in the bloodstream?
Each hormone has specific cells that it can affect.
What are receptors?
Proteins on the cells in the bloodstream.
