The Elements Applied Flashcards
What are the two things that must be understood to solve a UX problem? Why?
1) the problem itself
2) the consequences of the solution
Failure to understand either one can create ripple effects.
Why is a group or small team sometimes better than a large team with lots of resources on a UX project
They can all work on the same shared vision more easily
What three things lead to unconscious decisions about user experience?
1) design by default - I.e. Things are separated in the company database but that doesn’t mean they need to be in the design
2) design by mimicry - following conventions from other products that actually might not work well for your product
3) design by fiat - when personal preference instead of user needs drive up decisions
Thoughtful deliberate design decisions are like an
Investment. They cost in the short term but lead to gains in the long run.
