The Electrical System Flashcards
What are the indications of a failed alternator?
The loss of an alternator is indicated by an annunciator light and a zero indication on the loadmeter.
Describe the electrical system
14-volt electrical system with push-pull type circuit breakers.
12-volt, 35 amp hour battery
Two 70-amp engine driven alternators
Voltage regulators maintain constant 14-volt output from each alternator.
The plane can still operate on one alternator.
Will the engines continue to run with the alternator and battery master switches turned off?
Yes, because ignition is provided through the use of engine driven magnetos which are independent of the aircrafts electrical system and each other.
Describe the stall warning system.
The Seminole has two electric stall detectors.
They are on the left wing.
The inboard detector goes off at flaps 25* or 40*
The outboard detector goes off at flaps 0 or 10
There are two tabs to provide warning at varied angles of attack.
Deactivated on the ground by a squat switch on the left main gear.
