External auditory meatus
Cartilage flap which protects the external auditory meatus
Tragus
Upper curved area of the pinna
Helix
Fatty tissue without any cartilage
Earlobe
Thin membrane that separates the middle ear from entering the outer ear and damaging the tympanic membrane

Along with hairs helps to prevent foreign substances from entering the eat and damaging the tympanic membrane

Middle ear
Ear bones (malleus, incus, and stapes)
Ossicles
Tube that connects middle ear with throat

Located within temporal bone the inner ear contains semicircular canals, vestibule, and cochlea
Inner ear
Three canals that lie at right angles to each other which have expanded bases called ampullae
Semicircular canals
Contains two membranous sacs (utricle and saccule) that are involved with equilibrium, sensations of gravity and linear acceleration
Vestibule
Coed structure involved with hearing (snap shaped)
Cochlea
Basic receptors of the in Er eat that provide I formation about the direction and strength of varied mechanical stimuli
Hair cells
