Where does chemical digestion start?

A

The start of chemical digestion is in the mouth. When the food hits the saliva it starts the chemical digestion. The saliva is created by the salivary glands. When saliva is mixed with the food it is called bolus. Saliva helps the food travel down the oesophagus.

Q

What are the three organ that helps digest chyme but chyme does not travel in them?

A

The three organs are the liver, gall bladder and the pancreas. The pancreas makes pancreatic juices which neutralises stomach acid and make enzymes. The liver make bile which helps digest fats. The bile also neutralises stomach acid. Bile is stored in the gall bladder until it is reaches the small intestine. It goes to the small intestine by the bile duct.
