What is the function of the trachea
A
The trachea carries air to and from the lungs. The trachea is made up of rings of cartilage which keep it open

A
We breathe in through our nose. Hairs and mucus in the nose trap dirt particles and bacteria.

A
Each bronchus carries air between the trachea and the lungs

What is the function of the bronchioles?
A
The bronchi branch off into many tiny tubes called bronchioles. These carry air to and from the air sacks called alveoli.

A
These are tiny air sacks where the exchange of gases takes place.
