Why did American want reunification in Germany?
They wanted Germany to be a strong, capitalist and united country to trade with and help prevent the spread of communism
Why did the USSR want division in Germany?
They wanted Germany to be weak and divided so that it would never be able to attack the USSR again.
What was Bizonia?
The name given to the British and US zones that joined together.
Why didn’t Stain like the formation of Bizonia?
He believed that it went against the agreements made at Potsdam and he suspected the USA was aiming to permanently divide richer west Germany from poorer east Germany.

Eastern Germany grew almost all the food that western Germany ate.

It’s deep in USSR-controlled Germany which meant that the USSR could block all supplies into Berlin.
Why did the USSR block all supplies into Berlin?
To show that it had the power to stop a divided Germany working.
What was the Berlin airlift?
When supplies were airlifted into west Berlin as a response to the USSR blocking all supplies into Berlin
Why didn’t the western powers want to pull out of Berlin when the Berlin blockade happened?
It would have made them look weak and undermined the USA’s image.
How was the Berlin blockade somewhat advantageous for the US?
It made them appear generous and better in comparison to the USSR.
