What happened during the bay of pigs?
A
As the USA was not planning for an actual invasion, Kennedy supplied arms and equipment for 1400 anti-Castro exiles who would invade Cuba and other-throw Castro.

What was the results of the invasion?
A
In April, they landed at the bay of pigs but were then caught by 20,000 Cuban troops who were heavily armed. Castro then captured them and killed them all within days.

Consequences of the event
A
Some said it showed Kennedy’s weakness and that it further encouraged the spread of communism.
US began to worry about what the USSR were up to
