The attorney general of India
The attorney general of India is the first law officer of the government of India, who gives advice on legal matters and performance other duties of legal character as assigned to him by the President.
Appointment of A-G
The attorney general of India is appointed by the President and holds office during the pleasure of the President. He must have the same qualification as are required to be the judge of the Supreme Court.
Article 76
The attorney general of India discharge is the functions conferred on him by the Constitution or any other law.
Article 88
The attorney general for India is not a member of the cabinet. But he has the right to speak in the houses of Parliament or in any committee thereof, he has no right to vote.
Article 105(4)
He is entitled to the privileges of a member of Parliament. In the performance of his official duties they attorney general has the right of audience in all courts in the territory of India.
